This year saw the first ever international student’s debate competition under the motion; E-commerce is a better study field than international trade and economics during this modern day era.
6th December, 2019 marked the birth of what will be a new culture for international students as a debate was held for the 2019 intake students. The event was successfully organized by the union under collaborative work from the study and activities department on the 4th floor of the school library.
The event was fully supported by the International Education College as it saw in attendance, the Vice Dean Ms Sherry 胡丽珍 who at the end of the event gave a speech to encourage the students to participate more in school activities.
The debate panels had two speakers on each side that came fully prepared and delivered a masterpiece debate. On the proposer’s side (E-commerce students) was Abraham Revees 王亮 (1st speaker) and James Gbamokollie 詹姆士 (2nd speaker) and on the opposing side (Trade and Economics Students) was Sekelai Kanyanta 彩虹 (1st speaker) and Malenga Samuel Buvana塞缪尔 (2nd speaker). Each speakers were given time to articulate their points and were judged accordingly.
After the debate, members of the audience where also given a chance to make contributions or ask a few questions just for clarification. There after the votes came in and were declared as follows.(胡丽珍 Chibuye Report)
